A Mother Holds
Her Children’s Hands
A Mother holds
her children’s hands
for a while...
their hearts forever.
God’s Masterpiece (Mother)
God took the fragrance of a flower…
The majesty of a tree…
The gentleness of morning dew…
The calm of a quiet sea…
The beauty of the twilight hour…
The soul of a starry night…
The laughter of the rippling brook…
The grace of a bird in flight…
Then God fashioned from these things
a creation like no other…
And when his masterpiece was through,
He called it simply – MOTHER.
In restful sleep our mother lies
But we need shed no tear;
For now she rests with Him above,
Free from her labors here.
The Master above has called her,
To come to Him above;
Where He bestows His blessings,
On those who gave Him love.
And we shall meet her there one day,
Our joy shall be sublime;
For we shall be with mother again,
Be with her for all time.
You can only have one mother,
patient, kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
will be the same to you.
When other friends forsake you,
to mother you will return.
For all her loving kindness,
she asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture,
sweet memories we recall-
Of a face so full of sunshine,
and a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus, take this message,
to our dear mother up above.
Tell her how much we miss her-
and give her all our love.
The Silent Tears (Mother)
The silent tears that each must shed,
Like rain upon the ground,
Will nourish all the love for her,
Which did in life abound.
Our Mother’s labors now are over,
Her earthly labor done;
And now she rests in peaceful sleep,
Her rich rewards are won.
Her family sheds a silent tear,
The grandchildren, too, must mourn;
But they again will meet her
When eternal life is born.
We Sat Beside Your Bedside (Mother)
We sat beside your bedside,
our hearts were crushed and sore;
we did our best to the end,
‘til we could do no more.
In tears we watched you sinking,
we watched you fade away;
and though our hearts were breaking,
we knew you could not stay.
You left behind some aching hearts,
that loved you most sincere;
we never shall and never will
forget you Mother dear.
